Edmond-Henri Zeiger-Viallet (1895-1994) — pair of grotesque masks — ink & pastel drawing monogrammed lower right and dated 1918 .
Drawings made on brown paper , glued from above to the back of technical plates . One of them has a sketch on the back and has a small hole to the right of the face as well as a trial of colors on the cardboard, under the drawing; the other has still stuck on the back of the remains of labels from the paper supplier , in Geneva, where Zeiger had studied at the École des Beaux-arts a few years earlier (see photos above).
