Satyr menippee, of the virtue of the Catholicon of Spain, and of the dress of the States of Paris, to which is added a speech on the interpretation of the word of Higuerio del Infierno , & who is the author — 9 plates out of text — 3 volumes — Kerner — 1752.

Ratisbone [Paris], the heirs of Matthias Kerner [Laurent Durand], 1752. 3 volumes in-8° (12 x 18 cm.). Leaflet frontispiece + 4 ff. + XXXVI + 464 pp. + 7 folding plates out of text; 2 ff. + 522pp . + 1 folding board ; 1 f. +596pp. + 17ff. Headbands and tailpieces. Period binding in full glazed calfskin. Smooth backs. Title and volume number parts in black and red morocco. Double gilt fillet forming boxes decorated with gilding with floral motifs. Golden fillet on the edges. Corners slightly rubbed. Small scratches. All marbled slices. Very good interior (cf. pictures above).

Work originally appeared in 1593 under the coat, composed by a collective (Jean Le Roy, Nicolas Rapin, Jean Passerat, Jacques Gillot, Florent Chrestien and Pierre Pithou ) in support of Henri de Navarre, future Henri IV—against the Spaniards.
