Paris, Jamet Metayer, 1605. 2 volumes in 1 large volume in-4° (17.5 x 25 cm.). Engraved title-frontispiece, on the back of which an engraving has been pasted by Gaultier of the bust of Henry IV ( stamped, dated 1610 — replacing the fold-out portrait of Henry IV, missing) + 1 f. of engraved dedication + 18 ff. (warning & narration table) + 325 off. numbered to which have been added 9 ff. not numbered between off. 232 and 233, which are part of the continuity of the text — f. 233 being repeated with a slight variation, making a total of 335 ff., of which the engraving at the head of the book 1 + 1 f. white + 26 ff. (table of contents) ; 374 ff. + 28 ff. (table). Restored half vellum binding (Devauchelle). Title handwritten in brown ink on the reverse (dated 1606). Ex-libris inscription in red ink on the inside cover (Biron); others on the flyleaf in black and brown inks. Good condition. Interior costs. 2 very slight marginal wettings. Marginal lack on 1 f. (see photos above).

Original edition. Good copy including the 3 splendid engravings by Fornazeri.
