Paschal Beverly Randolph (1825-1875) was a black American physician, medium , occultist, Rosicrucian , member of the Hermetic Brotherhood of Luxor (Boston) and founder of the Eulis Brotherhood (Nashville). Considering that "sex is the greatest magical force of Nature", it proposes to reveal techniques aimed at redemption through sexuality, both the original cause of - and a remedy for the fall.
Maria de Naglowska is a Russian poet, occultist and surrealist muse. In the 1930s, she founded the brotherhood of the Flèche d'Or in Paris and organized seminars attended by Julius Evola, Man Ray and André Breton, among others. His translation, taking up several of Randolph's texts (including his treatise on magic mirrors) and enriched with oral teachings, places the work in a broader context by tinting it in particular with an astrological dimension.
