Monograph devoted to this thousand-year-old oak, one of the oldest in France, which can still be visited today. The author makes a pictorial physical description of it, relating in passing all sorts of anecdotes ("It is probable that Henri IV honored him with his presence, when in 1592 he defeated the Prince of Parma in the neighborhood of Allouville " - Louis XV will also visit it), wonders about its age - which he judges to be at the very least 900 years, more likely ten centuries - and predicts, quite rightly, a bright future. It discusses its transformation into a chapel in 1696, and places it back in history until its remodeling in 1854, when it was returned to its original state, before the new chapel was built. The author also collects several poems, a canticle and several descriptions of this "vegetal phenomenon".
