Cover and interior somewhat yellowed. Largely uncut (see photos above).

Rare manifesto of the committed poetry of the painter, writer and art critic Pierre Demarne, who was introduced to surrealism by André Breton in aftermath of the war — attempt to revive 'poetic magnetism' based among other things on alliteration & the counting of letters and presenting itself as the synthesis of the poem-object, of the writing phonetics and the 'strange lettrist stammering'.

On the upper flyleaf, this poem inscribed in capital letters at ink, and accompanied by an all-encompassing drawing intended for a distinguished inhabitant of Cabris:

' At the gate the engine
Snore
At the grocer's door
The grocer is to saw
enough for you
Words with balconies
Embassy
For you, remembrance
Of the 2cv without voice
To the country
Savage
Under goats
Sincerely '
