The Holy Week Office corrected again by the King's command in accordance with the breviary and missal of our SP Pope Urban VIII — binding with the arms of Louis XIV — Charles Fosset — [1680] .

Paris, Charles Fosset , nd [1680]. In-8° (12.5 x 19.5 cm.). Engraved title-frontispiece (Deposition with Louis XIV kneeling in prayer); 2 ff. ; 512 p. ; 4 copper engravings (Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, Last Supper, Crucifixion, Easter Resurrection). Red morocco binding, Duseuil decor, covers decorated with a double frame composed of a triple gilt fillet. Fleur-de-lys at the corners of the interior frame. Monogram L crowned in the center of the dishes. The pattern is repeated six times on the back. All golden edges. Stains and scuffs. Corners, nerves and caps rubbed. First messed up notebook. Lack at the top of the upper guard. Redacted inscriptions on the white end papers (see photos above).

The first edition of this Holy Week Office appeared in Paris, at Ruette, in 1644, the second in 1659, the third in 1661, still during the lifetime of Antoine Ruette (1609-1669). A fourth edition is shared with Charles Fosset, in 1677, keeping the title engraved at the address of Antoine Ruette. This is therefore probably the fifth edition, dating from 1680 in a binding from the Ruette workshop.
