[Gustave Vallier (1815-1892)] Lord What Fairfish — A Dauphinois Easter Egg, fanciful ditlet dedicated to a little-endian by a big-endian — Savigné — 1880 .

Vienne, Savigné, April 1, 1880. Large in-8° (17 x 26 cm.). 30pp. Pin. Uncut. Strong paper cover. Identical title page on publishing paper. (see photos above).

Small humorous treatise — as the pseudonym indicates — written in the form of a letter to Alphonse K… [Alphonse Karr?] and apparently originally published in the Revue du Dauphiné et du Vivarais, in which the author, distinguished ( ?) numismatist and archaeologist from Dauphine, undertakes to establish a symbolism of the egg full of historical details drawn from various authors, from antiquity to the contemporary period of his writings. Not without recalling the literary movements of the end of the 19th century, from the Jemenfoutistes (Vat'fairefiche) to the Incohérents via the Hydropathes.

Rare.
