Placard containing a declaration dating from 1764 on vagrants, beggars or not, urging the authorities to send them to prison, then, on their release, to their village of origin where they will be required to find stable employment. Are deemed vagabonds & people without a confession "those who for the past six months have not exercised either profession or trade". Repeat offenders will be sent to the galleys...
